چکیده

Abstract We study the spectral evolution of black hole candidate EXO 1846−031 during its 2019 outburst, in 1–150 keV band, with Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope. The continuum spectrum is well modeled an absorbed disk-blackbody plus cutoff power law, hard, intermediate, and soft states. In addition, we detect ≈6.6 Fe emission line hard intermediate state. Throughout states, fitted inner disk radius remains almost constant; suggest that it has settled at innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO). However, apparent was unphysically small (smaller than ISCO), even after accounting for Compton scattering some photons by corona fit. argue this result a high hardening factor, f col ≈ 2.0–2.7, early phases outburst evolution, above canonical value 1.7 suitable steady disk. already close to ISCO low/hard Furthermore, propose factor relatively state probably caused additional illuminating coronal irradiation onto Additionally, estimate spin parameter using continuum-fitting method, over range plausible masses distances. compare our results measured reflection-fitting method find inconsistency two partly different choices .

Foundations of Black Hole Accretion Disk Theory

This review covers the main aspects of black hole accretion disk theory. We begin with the view that one of the main goals of the theory is to better understand the nature of black holes themselves. In this light we discuss how accretion disks might reveal some of the unique signatures of strong gravity: the event horizon, the innermost stable circular orbit, and the ergosphere. We then review,...

An inner disk below the ADAF : the intermediate spectral state of black hole accretion

Aims: The hard and soft spectral states of black hole accretion are understood as connected with ADAF accretion (truncated disk) and standard disk accretion, respectively. However, observations indicate the existence of cool gas in the inner region at times when the disk is already truncated outside. We try to shed light on these not yet understood intermediate states. Methods: The disk-corona ...

A truncated accretion disk in the galactic black hole candidate source H 1743 - 322

To investigate the geometry of the accretion disk in the source H1743-322, we have carried out a detailed X-ray temporal and spectral study using RXTE pointed observations. We have selected all data pertaining to the Steep Power Law (SPL) state during the 2003 outburst of this source. We find anti-correlated hard X-ray lags in three of the observations and the changes in the spectral and timing...

2 Where is the Inner Edge of an Accretion Disk Around a Black Hole ? Julian

What is meant by the “inner edge” of an accretion disk around a black hole depends on the property that defines the edge. We discuss four such definitions using data from recent high-resolution numerical simulations. These are: the “turbulence edge”, where flux-freezing becomes more important than turbulence in determining the magnetic field structure; the “stress edge”, where plunging matter l...

Accretion Disk Torqued by a Black Hole

If a Kerr black hole is connected to a disk rotating around it by a magnetic field, the rotational energy of the Kerr black hole provides an energy source for the radiation of the disk in addition to disk accretion. The black hole exerts a torque on the disk, which transfers energy and angular momentum between the black hole and the disk. If the black hole rotates faster than the disk, energy a...
